Tasty baked goods, especially for those who love cardamom. Recommend their croissants and other flaky goods. Service was good. Nice people. Great ambience and patio area. Seating chairs a bit uncomfortable. Free Wifi but no outlet, so not good for long term studying. Mostly for small group conversation and one to one meeting for <1 hour. Unique to Lynchburg, but nothing caught my eyes.
The new permanent location is lovely, opened May 2023. The inside is chic and relaxing. The shop is connected to a refillable soap store and Scratch pasta. There is plenty of parking. The service is still just as good, but there are more employees. I purchased a cup of coffee, two treats for friends, and black currant & cream scone. The scone had a muffin crumb instead of scone, but it was very good. Open 10-6 most days. 8/2023 update: the shop is still as busy as ever. But the chocolate croissants has less filling than when the store was small. The currant scones are still good and they offer more sandwiches for a quick lunch. Old shop: This little shop has great pastries. It is only open two days a week for a few hours. The croissants are very flakey and the chocolate ones are so good. Cardamom knots are pleasantly spiced, the spice cookie is a little over spiced but pairs well with the coffee that is offered. Go early, because the selection gets smaller as they sell out.
Love love love this place!! Super solid study spot if you need a place to work or study as a student. Also great if just wanna chill and hangout with friends. The menu selection for a midday pick me up is wonderful, even if you’re looking for a full meal or simple pastry. All of their food is fresh and looks amazing! The coffee is delicious and there is variety with lattes. My sister and I got more unusual flavors, her ordering orange and rosemary for myself and they did not disappoint!! The staff were amazing and all were incredibly sweet and complimentary. Will definitely be back, especially if they’re open and I’m just shopping at Scratch, I’ll for sure swing by!
My daughter and I have done two of the baking classes at the Flour District and loved them both. The sourdough class was easily one of the best Christmas presents I have given in years. I checked someone off my list and have been enjoying fresh baked bread at home ever since!! Everything from the bakery is delicious. I was very impressed to see cardamom buns while we were there. I hope they'll continue and expand the cooking class offerings - they book up fast! Thanks again to Amy, Stephanie, and Brian for the outstanding classes!
This is set up like a coffee shop with unique decor. The center holds a beautiful antique apothecary table, low velvet sofas, and faux wood tables. The atmosphere is a mix of modern and antique but it all feels clean. You won't find food served on paper products but instead on glass and good quality silverware. Love! The service was great and the gal behind the counter had both savory and sweet recommendations. I had two boys with me who enjoyed the warm orange/ raspberry and cinnamon rolls. They were gone moments after hitting the table. Beautiful location, high quality ingredients and service - this was definitely a 5 star, must experience.
Hands down, the best quiche Lorraine I’ve ever had. Perfection. To be fair everything we’ve had here is above average to excellent. The variety in selection has provided something different each of our last three recent visits, which I appreciate. The kitchen is definitely keeping things interesting
We hosted a Sprinkle for my sister today and it was a wonderful experience! Amy and her team did an amazing job preparing the food and setting up the space so that it would be comfortable for everyone who attended. We highly recommend this venue for anyone interested in hosting a small to medium size gathering. It is such a lovely venue with high quality services!
This is one of my favorite spots in Lynchburg. I love the cafe experience; they have excellent lattes and pastries. The cooking classes are wonderful. I've taken the pasta class and a scone-making class, and they are so fun. The staff is friendly and kind. They also offer catering, and you can rent their beautiful spaces for small events. This is a neighborhood favorite. Highly recommend!
THE best and HEALTHIEST cafe in Lynchburg!!! Delicious pastries! Amazing selection! Fantastic atmosphere! (We love the outdoor seating in the Spring/Summer/Fall!) We only recently discovered this place, and now my husband and I love coming here! Everything we've gotten so far has been amazing. Decent prices too!! And we discovered that they use freshly milled flour in all their products!!! Amazing!!! ❤❤❤ One of our FAVORITE places in Lynchburg, hands down.🙌 (I just wish they were open on Mondays and Tuesdays too. 😭😅)
Litterally the BEST coffee place & MOST HIGH QUALITY AND GOOD PRICED PASTRIES in the LYH area. On top of that the VIBE literally feels like you are overseas in Europe. So beautifully decorated interior and high quality seating both indoors and outdoors. Could not recommend this place! Acaomdates both small & large groups too!
